Lake Placid Tourist Park

Lake Placid Tourist Park is a straightforward spot just off Lake Placid Road near Cairns. It’s a classic tourist park rather than a fancy resort, offering powered sites for caravans and tents, plus some cabins if you’re not bringing your own gear. It’s handy if you want to stay close to Cairns without being right in the city.

The park is quiet most of the time and has the basics covered – toilets, hot showers, a camp kitchen, and a small shop. Don’t expect anything flash, but it’s decent enough for a couple of nights if you’re passing through or heading up to the Atherton Tablelands.
