Lake Burrinjuck Leisure Resort sits right on the edge of the lake, about 3 hours west of Sydney. It’s a decent spot if you want lakeside camping or cabins, with boat ramps and fishing fairly easy to access. The place isn’t flash but it’s functional, with powered sites and basic facilities.

Booking is by request, so you’ll want to get in early, especially in peak seasons. The location means you’re surrounded by water and bushland, but beware of flies in summer and the usual rural quirks. Woolgarlo Road is a bit rough in parts, so don’t expect smooth tarmac all the way.
